About the WhatsApp channel
WhatsApp is a free, multi-platform centralized instant messaging and voice-over-IP service accessible worldwide. It allows users to share photos, documents, locations, and other content, besides text messages, voice messages, phone calls, and video calls.
How to perform integration on Botmaker?
The Botmaker platform allows a native integration to automate conversations with a bot and to provide excellent service to customers. In the following steps, we will show you how to connect the channel in a simple way.
Step 1: Go to Menu> Integrations> Channels (https://go.botmaker.com/#/integrations /channels)
Step 2: Start the WhatsApp connection
In the Channels section, select WhatsApp and click Connect.
Step 3: Add a WhatsApp account
After clicking Connect, you will see a new screen. Click + Add Account.
Step 4: Check prerequisites
Check if you meet the prerequisites mentioned in the tutorial. Then click Next.
Step 5: Enter Facebook credentials
On the next screen, log in to your Facebook account.
After entering the credentials, choose the WABA (WhatsApp Business ID - business identifier) from the account where the number you want to connect to the bot is created.
Step 5b: Enter WhatsApp credentials
If you need to create the WhatsApp account and link it to the WABA, enter the WhatsApp account data:
Remember that the name (Name of the WhatsApp Business Account) must match the name of the business on Facebook. For example, if the business is listed as "Business123" on Facebook, you should use the same name with the same format.
Note: In the next step, it is possible to add the WhatsApp profile description (optional).
Step 6: Verify the WhatsApp number
When you choose the account that contains the WhatsApp number, you can start the WhatsApp number verification process.
Important: The verification process through Meta takes 24 hours to notify if the number has been approved or not.
Step 7: Number connected to the bot
Next, at https://go.botmaker.com/#/integrations/channels/whatsapp, you will be able to see the WhatsApp lines that are currently connected.
Additional considerations
Step 8: Verify the account with Meta
There is only one step left to start chatting with your customers via WhatsApp: verify the account. Within your company's Business Manager, follow the path Settings> Start Verification.
Step 9: Send your company's data to Meta
You will need to fill in the following Meta form to obtain account verification. This process will take between 2-4 days for Meta to approve the business.
Step 10: Wait for Meta verification
After completing the steps, you will see that the business verification is in progress.
Additional considerations
If Meta cannot find the business record, it will request additional verification in a format like the one shown on the next screen. You will need to fill in the information so that the process is satisfactory.
After the business is verified, you will see the following screen:
Congratulations! Your business has been verified, and you can now start responding quickly, automating responses, and having faster, more efficient communication.
