What does the data protection policy consist of?

In compliance with the European data protection law - GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) effective from May 25, 2018, and the General Data Protection Law of Brazil (LGPD), the Botmaker platform allows for the deletion of personal data and files after a user-defined period.

How do I access this functionality on the Botmaker platform?

By clicking on Settings > Security, you will access the section on user data and file retention policy, where you can configure the timeframe after which user data (name, email, etc.) and/or files (images, audios, videos, and documents) will be deleted from the platform.

The data retention policy adheres to two deletion parameters:

1. Data

You can select one of the following options:

• Do not delete user data
• Delete all data
• Delete user-identifying data (name, email, address, etc.). As an additional configuration, you can select variables that need to be retained, such as those identified by a CRM. The rest of the data will be deleted from the platform after the specified period and will no longer be available.

If you choose "delete all data" or "delete user-identifying data," you must specify the retention period in days. For example, if you select "delete all data" and specify a retention period of 30 days, messages, users, and metrics will be deleted after 30 days.

Note: If you decide to delete all data, reports will be voided, and you won't be able to view conversation details. If you delete all user-identifying data, reports will continue to display conversation data minus the name, email, address, or other generated data. Big query data will also be deleted after the defined data deletion period.

1. Files

You can also specify how long multimedia files from messages (audios, videos, images, and documents) will be retained. There are two options:

• Do not delete multimedia files
• Delete multimedia files

If you choose "delete multimedia files," you must specify the number of days they will remain on the platform. After this time, they will be permanently deleted. All files sent or received by the bot are subject to the data retention policy, so you must define the retention period (in days) after which they will be deleted.

Option to hide WhatsApp phone numbers

As an additional security measure, in Settings > Security, you can also activate the option to hide the client's phone number on the chat screen. This setting applies only to WhatsApp..

These configurations allow you to manage your project more securely and control confidential information or information that you believe should not be stored on the platform after a certain period of time.
