How to respond with ChatGPT in Bot Designer?

This article describes how to generate responses in your chatbots using ChatGPT

Developed and trained by the company OpenAI, ChatGPT is a text-generating artificial intelligence tool that processes natural language and answers thousands of questions its users can ask in different languages, such as English, Portuguese, and Spanish. Its acronym stands for " Chat Generative Pre-Trained Transformer", which means that it was trained to interpret human language and create more natural content.

In this line, Botmaker developed the Responses with ChatGPT feature, which is integrated into the platform and allows the generation of automatic answers according to the instructions (prompts) set by users.

What´s the feature about?

The feature Responses with ChatGPT allows generating answers automatically in your chatbots, optimizing resources for the creation of conversational flows through the following characteristics:

  • Automatic generation of responses based on ChatGPT prompts
  • Possibility to set the message tone
  • Possibility to set the maximum number of words
  • Inclusion of emojis
  • Possibility to test prompts (prompts tester)
  • Use of variables

How to add a response with chatGPT?

In the chatbot creation section, you can add a bot response integrated with ChatGPT’s artificial intelligence.

This means that your chatbot can generate more natural and personalized responses for each user without the agent having to type them manually.

In the bot’s response block, you must place a title that begins with a verb, so that you can understand the flow at a glance.

Then, you must tell chatGPT how you want to respond, meaning that you must provide it with a prompt so that the response suits your needs, for example, we will tell it to respond to the user’s last message simply and clearly. You can also specify variables in that prompt, allowing chatGPT to provide a contextualized response based on previous interactions with the user. Variables can be listed by typing the $ sign.

03

In the following screen, you will see an example of a prompt with two variables:

04

You can also define the tone of the response from the following options:

  • Neutral
  • Cheerful
  • Confident
  • Humble
  • Informal
  • Helpful

Likewise, the feature allows adding emojis to the replies and enables the option to consider previous messages. Remember that the text of the reply is limited to a maximum of 100 words.

05

Additionally, by clicking on Test , you can visualize the response according to your specifications. Finally, by clicking Save , the next time a conversation is generated between the chatbot and the user, ChatGPT will provide contextual responses based on previous interactions with that user.

Note : We recommend experiencing the settings of message tone, maximum words, and emojis inclusion to find the best way to use the feature in your chatbots.

Optimize response speed and take message quality to another level by integrating ChatGPT into your chatbot responses to boost customer service.
