How to configure system messages in Identity and preferences?

In this article you will learn how to configure the system messages that are sent when processing Generative Artificial Intelligence.

These messages will allow you to customize the user experience when interacting with the Generative Artificial Intelligence.

How to configure it?

To configure the system messages you should go to the BotDesigner of the chatbot.

In the toolbar on the left, select “Identity and preferences”.

Once inside the menu, go to the “System Messages” tab.

There you can configure 3 types of messages:

  • Waiting message before starting processing with generative AI. This message will appear when the chatbot requires generative AI to elaborate an answer.
  • Waiting messages on user insistence during the processing of a generative response. This message will be displayed if the user insists while the chatbot is still generating a response.
  • Generative AI timeout message. This message will be sent if the generative AI cannot generate a response within the expected time.

You can add multiple variables for each message, to provide a complete user experience.

Note that customization of these messages is optional. In case they are empty, the system will send default messages for each of the cases.
