How to use content bases?

In this article, you’ll learn how to use content bases, how to update them, their expiration, and limitations.

Content bases are a centralized repository of organized information used to feed and train different artificial intelligence functionalities. They allow access to up-to-date knowledge and enable precise and contextual responses.

On the left side of the screen, you’ll find the toolbar with the main tools for bot design.

In it, you’ll find the option "Content base". Click on it to start managing it.

Within the Content base section, you can upload different types of information. By clicking the “Add content” button, you can upload new materials.

Accepted file types:

  • PDFs
  • DOCS
  • TXT
  • XLS
  • Web pages
  • JSON
  • Markdown

Maximum file size: 30 MB

When it doesn't understand flow

Once the content has been added, you can choose whether it should be used to answer messages not understood by the bot’s flows.
If you wish to activate this option, it must be done from this screen — this will disable the "Unrecognized" flow and respond using the uploaded content.

How to update content bases

It’s possible to update the information source of a content base, whether it’s a document or a website.
This allows users to keep their content bases up to date, ensuring that generative elements (AI agents, generative text messages, etc.) referencing that base automatically use the new content.

Select the base you want to update and click the "Update" button within the actions menu.

To update a website, you can change the reference URL. In this case, you can also update it using the same URL.
The content base will be retrained, incorporating any changes made to the referenced site. You can also modify the page limit to be explored.

Go to the "Websites" section, select the one you want to update, and click the "Update" button within the actions menu.

Website crawling page limit

When adding a website as a content base, you must specify the maximum number of pages to be considered in the crawling process performed by the platform.

The maximum allowed is 20,000 pages. Keep in mind that if you choose the maximum limit, you may need to contact support to request that analysis.

Last use and expiration

You can check when each content base was last used (in the resolution of a generative element). This helps identify whether certain content is becoming outdated. You can also sort the bases by last use or last update.

Note that content bases not used within 90 days will be marked as expired. This helps prevent unnecessary resource usage. An expired content base can be retrained, allowing it to be reactivated without needing to be reuploaded.
