Call Costs and Billing

In this article, you'll learn how call costs are calculated in Botmaker, the factors affecting the final rate, and how to check your consumption details within the platform for precise billing control.

Botmaker charges a fixed cost based on call duration:

  • Calls up to 2 minutes: USD 0.07
  • Calls from 2 to 60 minutes: USD 0.30
  • Calls exceeding 60 minutes are billed as two 60-minute calls, regardless of extra minutes.

This cost applies to all incoming or outgoing calls, whether through an existing SIP line, a new line acquired in Botmaker, or via WhatsApp Calling.

Within the platform, under “Settings” > “Account” > “Products and Usage,” you can find the cost of acquiring a new line within Botmaker, depending on the country.

Additional Charges with WhatsApp Calling

WhatsApp applies additional charges based on a system of 6-second pulses:

  • One minute equals 10 pulses of 6 seconds.
  • A call of 1:18 is billed as 13 pulses.
  • Non-multiples of 6 are rounded to the nearest pulse. (e.g., a call of 1:01 is billed as 1:06 or 11 pulses).

Incoming WhatsApp calls do not incur WhatsApp charges, only Botmaker management fees.

Rates by Country and Usage Volume

WhatsApp applies variable per-minute rates based on country and call volume:

  • Argentina: USD 0.0101 to USD 0.0046, based on volume.
  • Chile: USD 0.0121 to USD 0.0055.
  • Colombia: USD 0.0111 to USD 0.0039.
  • Mexico: USD 0.0094 to USD 0.0038.
  • Peru: USD 0.0121 to USD 0.0059.

These rates apply to calls initiated by the company, while user-initiated calls are free.

For detailed charge information by country and call quantity, refer to Meta's official documentation.

Summary

The total cost of a call depends on the duration, recipient's country, and whether the call was initiated by the user or the company, along with the WhatsApp pulses applied.
