How to test a Callbot from the Botdesigner?

In this article, you will learn how the callbot testing tool within the Botdesigner works. This functionality allows you to simulate a phone call and validate your callbot's behavior without costs, without publishing changes, and directly from the editor.

The test reproduces the flow exactly as a real user would receive it, including menu navigation, option recognition, and the bot's response.

Step 1: Access the Botdesigner

Log in to the Botmaker platform. Open the callbot you want to test. In the top right corner of the editor, you will see the "Test" button.

Step 2: Start the Callbot Test

Click on "Test." A display simulating the call interface will open. You will see:

  • A numerical keypad.
  • A button to end the call or mute the microphone.
  • A visualization of the flow as it executes.

Step 3: Navigate the Callbot in Simulation Mode

From the simulator, you can:

  • Enter options using the numerical keypad.
  • Advance through the different blocks of the callbot.
  • Confirm that the flow branches work as you expect.
  • View errors or deviations without the need to publish the changes. It is a faithful representation of the callbot's actual behavior.

Important Aspects to Consider

  • There is no call cost. The simulation is completely internal; it does not use balance or generate charges.
  • You can test the flow even if you have unpublished changes. This allows you to validate adjustments before impacting them in production.
  • It only allows one call at a time. If you start a test, you must end it to begin another one.
